If you ask me, the only thing as fun as riding a bike is building your dream bike. I’ll guide you through every step from measuring to fitting the bike to selecting the frame and components to adjusting your position on the bike. Trust me. This will be awesome.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS.
Print out this questionnaire. Grab a tape measure and a pen. Once you’ve completed the questionnaire, email it to me and I’ll use it to guide us through the frame design process. At this point, we’re just talking — you’re not obligated to purchase a bike. No pressure!
STEP 1: INPUT & DESIGN
Because my bikes are built to order and can’t be test-driven like off-the-shelf bikes, I spend a lot of time getting to know you and your riding style. Everything is important: what’s your past history as a cyclist? What kind of bike do you ride now? What are your likes, dislikes and goals? We’ll get to the answers through a questionnaire, conversations and emails. Along the way, I’ll stay in touch to show you how the frame design is coming along.

STEP 2: CUSTOM BUILDING
Once we’ve agreed on a design and you’ve placed your $1500 deposit, the actual building begins at R+E Cycles, my manufacturer. Frame-building typically takes about 4 – 8 weeks. That should give you plenty of time to choose the perfect color for your bike. We offer a full palette of stock colors. If none hits the spot, we can match any color swatch or paint scheme you have in mind. That might add a little time and investment to the project, but this is your dream bike, right? This is also a good time to tweak the component spec if you want something different…flat handlebars, dual brake levers or special wheels, just to name a few.
STEP 3: CUSTOM ASSEMBLY
The completed frame and fork are delivered along with components and wheels to an independent bicycle dealer in your area. I pay the shop to assemble the bike and make small adjustments so it fits you. I can recommend a dealer OR we can use your favorite bike shop.
STEP 4: DELIVERY
Take your bike home from the shop and ride it for a couple of weeks. When you’re sure it’s the bike for you, pay the remaining balance. If you don’t like it, box it up and return it and your $1500 deposit will be returned. (Don’t lose sleep over this. In the past five years, only one bike has ever been returned.)

Simpatico makes for good bicycles!
